Choose your UPP
Depending on your course and university requirements, you’ll only need to learn German up to B1, B2 or C1.
That’s why we offer three variations of the preparation programme, based on the German language level you need.
Learn up to B1 German
Choose this option if you want to study in English.
For English-taught programmes, German may not be required for admission. Learning German can still help you navigate everyday life and with looking for part-time jobs.
Learn up to B2 German
If you are aiming to study at a university of applied science, you likely only need German B2.
Learn up to C1 German
If you want to study at a top-ranked university, you’ll very likely need C1 German.
This is also the most popular option among our students. About 7 to 9 out of every 10 students choose this option.

Who can join UPP?
UPP is designed for students who have completed recognised pre-university qualifications such as A Level, STPM, IB Diploma or Australian Year 12 qualifications.
Do I need to know German before joining?
Not necessarily. UPP includes German language preparation, starting from beginner level for students who need it.
Can I study in Austria after UPP?
Yes. Austria is one of the destinations available through UPP, subject to the admission requirements of the university and programme.
Can I study in Germany or Austria in English?
Yes, if you choose a suitable English-taught programme and meet its admission requirements. German is still useful for everyday life and can expand your study options.
Does UPP guarantee university admission?
No. UPP prepares you for university and provides application guidance, but the final admission decision is made by the university.
Having said that, we do our best to give you a good chance of getting accepted. After all, 100% of our students have successfully received an acceptance so far.
Can I work in Germany or Austria after graduating?
Yes! After studying in Germany or Austria, there are great career opportunities, especially for professionals such as engineers.
Best of all, graduates can stay in Germany for up to 18 months or Austria for up to 12 months to look for a job.
