Study in Europe at the cost of studying locally

Save money and get an education which helps with your career.

to learn about tuition fees and cost of living in Germany, Austria and Spain.

You want the best education for your child. Perhaps you are even thinking of sending your child abroad to get experience on top of just a Bachelor’s degree. Or maybe to one of the more prestigious private universities in Malaysia

I don’t know about your child but…

I have always wanted to study abroad.

My brother graduated from Monash University, Australia and I was well aware of the financial strain it put on my parents to get him there.

Years of savings went to his tuition fees. The living expenses in Melbourne was very high as well.

When it came to my turn, I remember attending many education fairs to look for a course which is more affordable. Gosh! I was surprised to learn how expensive private universities in KL can be.

I ended up choosing a university which was closer to home, because:

  • they offered me a 40% discount off my tuition fees. My parents only had to pay RM40k+ for my entire bachelor’s degree.
  • I still want to be close to my parents. (and save on accommodation, transport, and food too)

Looking back, I sometimes wonder where life would have brought me if I have chosen to study abroad.

I enjoyed my uni life here.

I enjoyed having my family and friends close by.

I enjoyed not having to worry about doing daily chores or thinking about what to cook.

But my brother met people from different backgrounds and countries. He travelled across Australia and has fond memories of that time.

How much do I need to study abroad?

For example, a 4-year business degree in Melbourne, Australia will cost about RM430,000.

Tuition fees RM 150,000
Cost of living RM 280,000

A similar degree in New York, USA will cost about RM 540,000!

Tuition fees RM 190,000
Cost of living RM 350,000

In comparison, it would only cost about RM220,000 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It’s cheaper by half…

Tuition fees RM 120,000
Cost of living RM 100,000

What if I say that studying in Germany, Austria or Spain will cost about the same as studying in Kuala Lumpur

Would you believe me?
